In order to obtain any results from
the surgery, please phone the
surgery after 3.30 pm. Results are
obtained by a computer link from the
hospital and do not arrive until the
afternoon.
This will allow doctors to look at
the result and advise the
receptionist as to whether the
result is normal, or if your doctor
wishes to see you again to discuss
the results further.
Blood and urine results usually take
3-4 working days to ‘turn around’ at
the hospital. Other specialist tests
can take longer.
Receptionists are not qualified to
read results and will only be able
to give you your result if the
doctor has seen it and authorised
them to do so. You do not need an
appointment to receive blood/urine
results.
