As we are a rural practice, we are allowed to dispense prescriptions to patients who live more than a mile from a chemist. For any patient within the mile boundary, prescriptions will need to be taken to a community pharmacy. The nearest community pharmacy, to the surgery, is Saxon Warrior Pharmacy, The Square, Lenham.
All repeat prescriptions are subject to regular review by the doctors. Each doctor regularly reviews up to 40 prescriptions each morning before surgery to assess whether further blood tests, blood pressures etc are required. There are strict guidelines on the monitoring of many drugs which the doctors at Len valley take very seriously to ensure there is no adverse impact on your health.
The majority of patients who have repeat medications will have had a Clinical management Plan tailored to their specific medical problems and medications. The plan allows coordinated recall for medication reviews, the necessary blood tests and other tests to be undertaken. This is sometimes followed by a review with the patients usual doctor, either by surgery or telephone appointment.
The Clinical Management Plan is attached to your record and usually involves six monthly or yearly visits to the practice for the necessary tests. We hope that this cuts down the number of routine appointments required for many patients, as well as patients time.
Please allow 48 hours (excluding weekends and Bank holidays) to collect your prescription. For those whom we dispense for, your items will be ready within 4 working days from the time of request.
How to order repeat prescriptions
- By ticking the relevant items on the computerised repeat slip, originally found on the right of your prescription. Either hand in, post or fax to dispensary on 01622 850441. If you would like us to post your prescription back to you please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
