Antenatal
Clinic
A
comprehensive series of sessions run
by a fully trained
Midwife, aimed at
providing all the information
required to the parents to be.

Asthma Clinic
For
those diagnosed as suffering with
asthma. This is done by appointment.
Please contact reception for more
details.

Cervical
Smears
Cervical smears are aimed at
detecting cancer of the cervix at a
stage at which it is treatable. We
should advise that all ladies have
cervical smears every 3 years up to
the age of 50 and then every five
years until their 65th birthday.
Please discuss with the nursing
staff for further information.

Child Health Surveillance
Currently the GP performs an
assessment at approximately 8 weeks.
Health visitors carry out other
opportunistic screening and also assess children
at 12-14 months. It is hoped that
health visitors/allied staff will
have access to children in nurseries
or playgroups at 2-3 years of age,
to liaise with staff there and
assess their progress.

Diabetic
Clinic
For those diagnosed as suffering
with diabetes. This is via a longer
appointment with our
Nurse Practitioner,
Karen Williams, who has a special
interest in chronic disease
management. Dr Codlin is the
Practice lead for diabetic
management. Please contact
reception for further details. A
podiatrist is available to all
diabetics.

Foot care for the Elderly
Run by a qualified nurse, the foot
care clinic is designed for those
unable to look after the everyday
care of their feet for whatever
reason. This is done by appointment.

Foreign Travel Clinic
Book an appointment to see sister
and bring your itinerary so that she
can check it against vaccine records
and plan your vaccination schedule.
She can give you all types of
vaccines. We also have a special
licence allowing us to be a YELLOW
FEVER CENTRE – enabling us to give
the YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION and
necessary CERTIFICATE. This is at
the competitive price of £45 (inc
VAT).

Mammography
Routine screening mammography for
women between the ages of 50 and 65
is available in the Maidstone
district. Invitations will be sent
to all eligible women by the Kent
Health Authorities Support Agency.

Well Person Clinics
Why not review your lifestyle? We
offer a free health check every 3
years for people (aged 16-75) who do
not normally come to the surgery and
for all newly registered patients.
This clinic is run by the sisters at
both surgeries.
The check includes:

Blood pressure check

Height and weight measurement
-
Analysis of urine sample
-
Advice on smoking, alcohol, diet
and lifestyle
Appointments can be booked through
reception. (If you have symptoms of
an illness you should book an
appointment with a Doctor rather
than come to this clinic.)
If you are aged 75 or over you are
entitled to a health check. Please
ask at reception for details.

Minor
Surgery
A
minor surgery service is provided by
the surgery. Drs Taylor and Reed
both have a long experience and are
keen operators. Operations are
usually performed on Monday and
Tuesday afternoon. If you feel you
would benefit form this service,
please book an appointment with
either Dr Reed or Dr Taylor.
